Benicia Fastpitch Girls Softball, previously known as Benicia Pal Girls' Softball is a nonprofit sports league that serves girls ages 4-18 years old that live in Benicia and its surrounding cities. We welcome all girls of all levels! Benicia Outlaws Trav
Thank you again for everyone's patience during this very challenging and frustrating times.
Dear Parents, Players, Managers, and Coaches,
Thank you for staying home and keeping our community safe. These are definitely difficult and challenging times.
After lots of discussion, we apoligize that we will be cancelling our 2020 Softball Season.
Our priority now is the safety and health of our families. After months of preparation, we were all ready to PLAY BALL!
We have been ordered to shelter in place through May 17th, 2020. The City of Benicia is waiting for feedback from the Solano County Health and Public Services to determine when the fields will be reopened. Currently the City of Benicia has closed all fields through May 31, 2020.
Even with school being 100% online, once the shelter in place is lifted, we have the option to get our girls back onto the softball fields. New information is coming out daily and we are staying on top of the recommendations from The City of Benicia along with the Solano County Office of Emergency Services.
As a league, we are 100% ready and prepared to continue our season when it is safe to return, but starting our season in June is no longer an option.
Currently we are not issuing any refunds as we wait to see what decisions are made on May 12th, 2020. We are holding our 2020 Raffle and we will be announcing when and how to send in your raffle tickets. Please continue to sell them to recoup your $60 tax deductible donation.
Our Treasurer, Brian Wibben, is investigating all areas where we can apply for a refund of fee's, insurance, etc that has already been paid for by the league. This will help us maximize a partial refund to be given back to all parents in the case that the shelter in place is extended and we can not finish out our season. We are beyond thankful to all of our team sponsors and business banner sponsors that continue to support our softball league every year by keeping the final cost of registration as low as possible. Without our business sponsors, our girls would suffer and our fees would be extremely high. With the cost of operating a softball league continually increasing every year, our goal is to offer low yearly registration fees. As a league, let's continue to support all of our business sponsors and keep business local.
The season started Feb 1st and for the safety of our players, coaches, and parents we decided to suspend all games and practices on March 13th. Financially the league is responsible to provide everything required before the start of our season. After months and months of preparation by our entire BFP Board, majority of all season expenses have been paid in full by mid February. We are working all angles, just in case, to see where we can apply for refunds if available.
Below are a few examples of required items that have been purchased for our 2020 Season:
Uniforms, socks, visors, team equipment, Player registration with USA Softball, USA Softball player insurance, coach insurance, manager insurance, field rentals(already refunded), concession rental(already refunded), concession supplies and equipment, field reconditioning and field supplies, umpire insurance and umpire admin fees, and much more.
Our goal is to get our girls back out onto the softball fields as soon as safely possible. Please feel free to check out our website at www.beniciafastpitch.com for any and all updates. We will be posting information on our social media pages, Facebook & Instagram, along with updates by email too.
As a small town community, we understand the mental, physical, and financial struggle we all are enduring while sheltering in place. Plus dealing with 100% Online Teaching and working with our children everyday to assist them with their at home learning. Add on top of that, many of us have been laid off from our jobs with the uncertainty on when we will be able to return. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our Essential Workers that are battling everyday with the general public and extreme pressure. Together we will stay strong and healthy, so we can look forward to going back to normal times.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during these very challenging times.
But together as a community, we will get through this!
Stay safe and healthy,
